Fashion Designers

Fashion Designers with original voices and disruptive Ideas. You will be be responsible for designing bold collections, crafting conceptual piece, and contributing to both fashion and film projects under the Ashunter.

Key Responsibilities

• Design seasonal and conceptual fashion collections aligned with Ashunter’s themes and purpose.
• Research trends, fabrics, and cultural movements that influence and inspire the Ashunter aesthetic.
• Develop sketches, technical drawings, and detailed spec sheets for production.
• Work closely with the creative director (Ashunter), stylists, and production team.
• Participate in fittings, revisions, and prototyping phases to ensure quality and integrity.
• Collaborate on costume design for short films, magazine features, and runway shows.
• Source sustainable materials and support ethical production practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Fashion Design (or strong portfolio if self-taught).
• Experience designing for collections, editorial, or high-concept projects.
• Strong sketching, illustration, and design software skills (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, CLO 3D, Photoshop).
• Deep understanding of African fashion narratives, identity, and global design.
• Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative creative team.
• Passionate about storytelling through clothing.

Preferred

• Experience working in sustainable fashion or artistic collaborations.
• Knowledge of garment construction, textiles, and pattern making.
• Familiarity with styling and brand direction.
• Previous participation in fashion shows, exhibitions, or published work.
